I seriously love street art. Sometimes it has something important to say. Sometimes it has nothing to say. Sometimes it's just a visual to peak your interest. Sometimes it's colorful. Sometimes it's black & white. Sometimes you only find it if you're looking. I've featured several posts on the graffiti, stickers, & street art I've seen throughout the years.
There's Oceanside, Los Angeles, Seattle, Venice Beach, Canada, & Israel. Take a gander at some of my previous finds! Street art & graffiti always manages to capture my attention; I know it's not for everyone, but I shall forever enjoy the small but public art gallery that is street art. If you keep your eyes open, you can see the world.

Today I'd like to share with you the street art, stickers, & graffiti that I found throughout Copenhagen, Denmark. Denmark has a lot to offer for anyone interested in art, architecture, & history. Copenhagen, also referred to as København, is the stunning capital of Denmark.
There's The Little Mermaid sculpture made of bronze & granite, inspired by the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale. There's Amalienborg Palace, constructed in the 1700s, where you can see the changing of the guards as they march from the barracks. I visited these sites & admired their grandeur. However, I kept a keen eye out for any sign of graffiti on the streets.

Some of the street art I captured has political undertones & commentary on social issues. While some others are just silly little monsters. Take a look at this Copenhagen gallery for yourself. Let me know what you think of them. If you haven't ventured into a museum or art gallery lately, consider this a free admission. Hope you enjoy.
Which Copenhagen street art was your favorite? Do you have any in your city? Keep an eye out from now on. :]

i've always been fascinated by street art, too. partly because i don't see much of it in the suburbs, partly because i always love an unexpected burst of color. i think my favorite was the one that said ingen-racisme. i know nothing about it's social/political significance, i just think it looks cool. and the one that says fuck u reminded me of catcher in the rye
ReplyDeletehttp://hellokuo.blogspot.com/
Yeah, there's not as much in the suburbs so it makes it even more special if there is something there to find. :]
DeleteSome of the street art in Copenhagen is really cool. There are also some murals/legal graffiti around which is very nice. I don't remember the exact address but there's a couple on Frederiksberg:)
ReplyDeleteOh that's super cool. I wish I'd seen it. :]

DeleteStreet art is always so cool! It tells a story. Love those murals.

A story indeed. :]
DeleteArt is not a crime, as Tumblr would say.
ReplyDeleteI live in Delft, The Netherlands and on most places graffiti is illegal, but we have two huge walls on which everyone is allowed to paint. It's so beautiful to walk past it and just look at all the creativity people in my small city can come up with.
Copenhagen looks gorgeous! I would love to see it someday.
I visited Delft but didn't see the mural wall. How cool! :]
DeleteThe street art is stunning. I mean its not the typical definition of stunning or beauty, but almost all of it holds a story and its amazing how its come across in such bold works of art!
ReplyDeleteI think each city and town need a little more street art!
onceuponaseptemberyear.blogspot.com
The art & its beauty are subjective & up for interpretation. :]
DeleteStreet art is special and reflect the life of the community like nothing else. Have you ever seen or heard about street art in Belfast, Northern Ireland? They even offer tours for people to explore multiple art pieces on the walls of the city. It's amazing!
